Amanda Colleen Williams was named Artist of the Year by NIMA, the Nashville Industry Music Awards at the August 26th, 2017, 11th annual ceremony for the independent music organization.
Artists are nominated for the NIMA awards by committees who specialize in each genre category including:
Blues,
R&B/ Soul,
Funk/Reggae/Fusion,
Hip-Hop/Rap,
Alt Rock,
Hardrock/Metal,
Pop/Punk, and
Country
Artist of the Year is nominated based on:
Media presence
Work ethic
Level of artistry, and
Street buzz
The winner is then selected by popular vote.
