Saint Patrick's Day Story

It's not four-leaf lucky clovers, but the common three leaf shamrock who is the star of this Saint Patrick's Day story.

Saint Patrick was said to be kidnapped and sold into slavery as a young man.

He escaped with the help of Divine guidance (a voice within a dream), and returned to his home in Ireland bringing understanding of his tested Christian faith to other believers.

Through the three leaves of the shamrock, Patrick was able to explain the three aspects of Divinity: the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

In honor of Saint Patrick, here's a prayer he wrote called "The Breastplate."

It has been a comfort to many through the years, and perhaps will be a comfort also to you.

The Breastplate

a prayer by Saint Patrick

Christ be within me,

Christ behind me,

Christ before me,

Christ beside me,

Christ to arm me,

Christ inquired,

Christ in danger,

Christ in hearts of all I see that love me,

Christ in the mouth of friend and stranger.

Love & Light,

Amanda
