AWARDED FILMMAKER RELEASES MINI-MOVIE MUSIC VIDEO IN RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION WEEK
NASHVILLE, TN, September 6, 2022 Awarded film maker and director, John Hamlin (East Nashville: Somewhere Over the River) teamed up with Nashville songwriter Amanda Colleen Williams (She’s Tired of Boys Garth Brooks) over the pandemic to create a mini-movie music video for “I Am Saved” from Williams’ Appalachia Kid album.
“The concept hit me from the moment John showed me his story board and told me about his vision,” said Williams.
Hamlin said, “After I lost my daughter Emily to a heart attack, I went into a very dark place for a few years. My artistic work and the beauty of creating alongside music that moved me was what pulled me back and saved me from joining her.”
Amanda, daughter of Nashville Songwriter Hall Famer Kim Williams, saw her Uncle Larry and cousin Jason along with other close friends and family succumb to suicide.
“It’s a pain too many of us know too well,” said Williams, “losing a loved one to suicide. We hope this video and song can help people who are hurting.”
The video for “I Am Saved” words and music by Pete Garfinkel and Amanda Colleen Williams, directed by John Hamlin is set to debut on Nashville’s Roots Radio 89.5 FM website during WMOT Middays with Ana Lee on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
